Chiefs maul Ajax, Celtic stay top in Diski Challenge


Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United, University of Pretoria and Bloemfontein Celtic recorded wins in their MultiChoice Diski Challenge matches played on Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs ran out deserved 4-2 winners against Ajax Cape Town in at Ikamva in Cape Town. Ovidy Karuru, Mduduzi Nyandeni, Hendrick Ekstein and David Grewan scored for Amakhosi while Olwethu Nguye and Noah Sadaoui bagged Ajax goals.

SuperSport were made to fight hard but they eventually got past a plucky Maritzburg United 2-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Goals from Andile Fikizolo and Ryan Chapman helped Matsantsantsa to their first victory in the tournament.

University of Pretoria added to Moroka Swallows woes were they recorded a 2-0 victory at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. Strikes from Lucky Mathosi and Siphelele Luthuli sank the Birds who were thrashed 8-0 last week by Celtic.

Bloemfontein Celtic maintained their stranglehold on Group A of the with a comfortable 3-1 win over Polokwane City at Siwelele Park. Lethola Mofokeng scored a hatrick in the first half to seal a win for Celtic while Brian Dolama pulled one back for Polokwane.
